If you want to give your living room a face lift of sorts, the one thing that you should strongly consider is cleaning the centre piece of the room. In most cases, the centrepiece of the living room is going to be the sofa.
The modern trend for purchasing sofas has moved onto the leather variety, with one of the biggest selling points being the fact that they are indeed relatively easy to clean. To help you approach the task of cleaning your Leather Sofas, here are a few tips:
1) The first thing that you should do is make sure that you try any method of cleaning on an obscure part of the sofa – i.e an area that can’t be seen!
2) Be aware that leather is actually a natural material that is designed to repel liquids, meaning that any spills should be blotted and not wiped as this just spreads the liquid. So if you are cleaning your sofa, blot away and don’t be too concerned if s small dark spot is left once you have finished, but this is normal and should fade.
3) If you are having difficulty removing a stain, then you can try to clean it with a moisturising, non acidic soap. Put some soap on a wet cloth and move the cloth back and forth or side to side (not circular motions). Once you have done this, buff it with a damp or dry cloth. Once it has dried you should see that the stain has gone.
Hopefully these three straight forward tips can help you to clean your leather sofa and in turn help to give your living room a new lease of life!
